The Robert Mayne Day Hospital (RMDH) facilitates early patient discharge from hospital and that part of our role is admission avoidance. The RMDH is a five-day unit providing rehabilitation and acute medical care to older persons residing in the community, aiming to assist in restoring and improving general health, mobility and well being. A multidisciplinary team of specialists assist each patient to improve their ability to live a healthy, good quality life in their home and their community. Services provided include: medical care, nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical social work, clinical nutrition, and speech therapy.
Patients attending RMDH for rehabilitation will be given dedicated time slots for their required therapists. Each rehabilitation programme is based on the individual. Patients attending for medical review will be seen as per the RMDH Registrar/ consultant recommendations.
