The Robert Mayne Day Hospital is a five-day unit providing rehabilitation and acute medical care to elderly patients residing in the community, aiming to assist in restoring and improving general health, mobility and well being. A multidisciplinary team of specialists assist each patient to improve their ability to live a healthy, good quality life in their home and their community. Services provided include: medical care, nursing care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical social work, clinical nutrition, and speech therapy.
Patients attending the Robert Mayne Day Hospital requiring rehabilitation and team input attend one day a week from 10am to 3:30pm for 4-6 visits; depending on each individual’s needs. Patients attending for medical review only will need to attend one day a week for up to 3 visits, depending on their needs. Discharged patients will receive follow up care from the Medicine for the Elderly (MedEl) clinics or with their GP.
